PSI Wood lathe Versa Chisels January 15, 2008 J. Copeland I like these tools. Once I sharpened them I've found they are great for finer scraping and getting a good finish before sanding. I'm not an expert so take it for what it's worth. Good feel and control. I think the Benjamin's Best tools are a great value for the money.
Amazon was cheaper that direct from manufacturer November 26, 2007 Rick... (Rancho Cascades, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this item cheaper on Amazon than buying directly from the manufacturer, PSI. It was brand new, had free shipping, and arrived sooner than I expected. I'll be checking back frequently for additional items I need as well.
EASY TO USE May 14, 2007 Steven S. Guzman (AZ,U.S,A) AS A WOODTURNER JUST STARTING I FOUND THIS TOOLS TO BE VERY EASY TO USE AND IT HELP ME TO GAIN CONFIDENCE.
Takes a little practice March 26, 2007 Thrifty Spender (East Coast) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This tool takes an effort to learn to use, I am not sure how long it would take to master but you can get some amazing catches with it, that much will remind you of a skew. But once you start to get the hang of it, they actually do work pretty well, I am not sure how long it would take me to get as comfortable with it as I am with a Skew or Gouge but I will keep trying it out for a while longer. Who knows maybe at some point it will click for me.
Update 6/2008: When I get in a grove they work well, but they are still a bit awkward at times. One thing about them that I don't like is that they are a bit challenging to sharpen if you want a single smooth bevel. If they weren't so inexpensive I would have probably deducted a star for that.
