Product Description This Pony Pipe Clamp by Jorgensen features a special deep-reach head, which allows you to micro-adjust your tightness from the outboard end of your clamp. The design is perfect for tight jobs where traditional pipe clamps may not work. (Pipe not included)

A+++++ Clamping June 26, 2007 Cristobal Samaniego (Ann Arbor, MI 48103) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great product for the function I was looking for. I needed a clamp that adjusted position on the same side that clamps. I have a table (bench) with a top full of inserted nuts (3/4") that I use as the fixed side of these clamps. I bought three of them. Instead of using the fixed side of these clamps, I can screw them on the table nuts and easily turn that table area into a clamp, anywhere in the top. This allows me to clamp large boards (say 2ft x 4ft) with ease. The design of these clamps allows me to screw them in, adjust their height to the desired level, and then turn the screw to clamp nicely. This was the best clamp system I could find to do this job. I have used them several times now, and I am very pleased with their performance. They are rock solid and the price is right. I recommend buying at least two so that shipping comes free. That in itself pays for at least half of second clamp. I highly recommend them.
Pony 3/4" Deep Throat Pipe Clamp November 28, 2005 Custom Woodwork Design, Carl (Springfield, VA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
These clamps have been around forever and for those of us who are older than dirt they are like dear friends that we could not bear living without. I have several and will continue using them until one of us wears out.
Novice and weekend woodworkers might find that they are a little more trouble than they're worth. If you have never used these clamps in the past then I strongly suggest that you find a way somehow to try them out first. The deep throat pipe clamp has a somewhat awkward feel when compared to the Jorgensen #50 3/4" Pony Pipe Clamp and it is definitely going to be more difficult to use.
From the beginner to the dusty old pro and everyone in between, if you're just not sure that this is the one for the job I recommend that before buying these clamps try wrapping your hand around the one of the new Jorgensen ISD Bar Clamps. For the price these ISD bar clamps are in my opinion are the best I've ever used. The first time I got my paws on one I bought a half of a dozen. Within two weeks I owned 8 each of the 6's, 12's and 18's and I'm trying really hard to convince myself that I don't need any 24's because I don't have the room to extend my clamp rack again. But then everyone says, you'll always need one more clamp no matter how many you have.
Now back to the Pony 3/4" Deep Throat Pipe Clamp. There are some applications where this clamp is absolutely perfect but for every one of those there are many where it is not. I don't know why but I have found that many woodworkers, myself included, have a tendency to crank these guys down a little more than they would other clamps. Be aware that you will damage your work if these clamps are not used properly. I have to constantly remind myself that when I go for one more turn most likely I have already gone one turn too many.
Solid clamps that offer an affordable alternative January 9, 2004 J. Osborn (Sacramento, Ca) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I suggest that if you are just beginning to build your clamp collection, purchase 4-6 of the deep reach and 4-6 of the standard Pony pipe clamps. Go down to your local Home Depot and pickup 3/4" black pipe in an array of lengths. You will be amazed with the versatility. The clamps are powerful and don't slip under load. On Amazon clamp pads are available to protect your work.
Great clamp! December 5, 2003 7 out of 14 found this review helpful
This clamp's ability can be summed up in four letters: t-i-t-s.
