The word is smooth July 7, 2008 Eric A. Nakashima (Waipahu, Hi USA) I chose the Milwaukee jig saw over the Bosch because I have heard that the bosch has problems with square cuts. If square cuts are a priority for you this is the jig saw for you. It runs extremely smooth and it cuts through hard wood like butter, just let the saw do the work.
Cuts like butter June 15, 2008 J. Clementi (Bloomfield, NJ USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Smooth cutting, well balanced. Cut off the tip of my left index finger and didn't even feel a thing.
Nice that it came with it's own case to protect the saw. Better than my Dewalt which is probably in some landfill now.
very happy with product June 13, 2008 C. Gwin (Ocala, FL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I typically buy Milwaukee power tools when I can. I am very pleased to add this one to my collection. It runs great, like any Milwaukee, but it seems that even more thought was put into this product than usual. The light on the work area is excellent. Never would have thought you need one, but after using it I would hate to go back to not having it. Cuts very smooth for a jigsaw. Also, I don't know if it is the orbital action or what, but it cuts through PT lumber like butter. Coord is nice and long, a nice extra. Love the case. Saw fits in it just right, even with the blade in. Case has a nice space where the blades sit and once closed they don't roam around like blades do in some of my other cases. The blade release works well. I even had a blade break and thought the piece inside would would be too small to come out by just opening the lever. Thought I would have to get a screwdriver to pick it out, but I just opened the lever and it fell right out. Very happy with this saw.
My new favorite tool March 10, 2008 Brad K. Bryan (Richmond, VA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this saw. I can't afford a SawStop table saw or a Laguna bandsaw, but if this isn't the best jig saw out there, it's got to be darned close to it. My previous jig saw was a Freud J85, and the difference is like night and day. First of all, the fit and finish: This saw is made with precision. It cuts square and doesn't drift when cutting along a straightedge (like the Freud used to). Second, the LED light and the dust blower make it easy to follow the cut line (the Freud piled the dust right on the cut line, even if the cumbersome dust collection attachment was used). Third, it is balanced well (whereas the top-heavy Freud was just too big for it's base and would tip over backwards with half a chance, especially with the dust collection attached). The tool-less blade change is positive and effortless (actually, the Freud was OK there, too, one of it's few virtues). I bought the Freud at a "bargain" price, but it made me angry every time I got it out to use. This tool just makes me smile. :>)
As good as it gets. January 14, 2008 R. Smith 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As expected, typical Milwaukee quality. The heft of this saw takes a little getting used to, but just as with a handgun, weight buffers recoil. The weight makes this baby smoooooth. My tools are used for personal home improvement use, but I appreciate quality. This is the sixth Milwaukee tool I have purchased. They cost more, but I continue to choose to pay the difference.
